FA Cup Sixth Round Results in Goals and a Fixture Pile-up

FA CupAdidas football boot wearer Frank Lampard was back to his mighty best for Chelsea, with two goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Tottenham. Spurs were 3-1 up at half time following goals from Dimitar Berbatov, Hossam Ghaly and a Michael Essien own goal, but in the second half Chelsea kept their composure and punished a tactical change by Tottenham manager Martin Jol to keep them in the hunt for the FA Cup. Frank Lampard wearing the blue/grey Adidas +Predator Absolute and fellow Adidas football boot player Salomon Kalou each grabbed a goal in the second half, in a double act more convincing than their performance in the Adidas Predator vs F50 campaign video. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be in a pickle after apparently verbally abusing ref Mike Riley in a comment which appeared to question the Riley family lineage!

Manchester United and Middlesbrough to Play it Again

MercurialVapor Small.jpgIn Saturday’s big match, Middlesbrough almost overcame an injury-ravaged Manchester United in a game which ended 2-2. A Wayne Rooney rocket had fired United ahead which was equalised by a Lee Cattermole volley for Middlesbrough just before half time. George Boateng went from hero to villain after he headed Middlesbrough’s second but then handled Rio Ferdinand’s header after 66 minutes for a penalty. Cristian Ronaldo, wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor III football boots, coolly took the penalty which was enough to keep United in the FA Cup.

In the other games Blackburn overcame Manchester City 2-0 and Watford eased passed Plymouth Argyle 1-0 for places in the semi finals. The replays will be played on 19th March, which will be good news for footy fans but not for the clubs who are heading for a fixture pile-up that could derail any chances of silverware this season.

Singlesmall.gifBig Frank was wearing the Adidas +Predator Absolute football boot, for optimum speed, power and agility and takes his goal tally to 19 for the season. Current talk is whether Lampard will sign a new contract with Chelsea, as the summer could see him leaving the club by invoking a new Fifa rule to “buy-out” his contract. On Sunday’s performance, Roman Abramovich better open his bulging cheque book and make Frank an offer he can’t refuse!
