Genesi - Home
Genesi designs, develops and produces CHRP/IEEE 1275 based computing products that bring Power Architecture™ technology, flexibility, and efficiency to the desktop, home entertainment, netcom, low-end server and pervasive market segments at an affordable price.
Genesi has extended the IEEE 1275 Firmware standard with a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) that speeds up time to market for new Power Architecture™ products. Included in the abstraction layer is an x86 emulator, which allows off the shelf PC graphics components to be used on Power™.
The Open Client, based on the energy efficient and versatile EFIKA design, and its predecessor, the Open Desktop Workstation, based on the PegasosPPC design, are supported by the GNU/Linux and OpenSolaris communities, as well as a number of specialized operating systems, including MorphOS.
The speed at which Power Architecture™ products can be brought up using the company's Firmware to offer a broad suite of operating systems and applications, is a primary value that Genesi and its affiliate bplan provide their partners and customers
