Jeremy Cameron says he loves playing with the GIANTS and sees a long term future for himself at the club.

Cameron refuted a report on Tuesday that he is looking at a move to Victoria after his current contract expires at the end of 2015.

“I’m loving my time up here at the GIANTS, I really enjoy the boys, the coaching staff and everyone that’s involved in the club,” Cameron said.

“It’s something that we’re growing and I’ve seen grow over the last three years and I’m really enjoying it.”

Asked if he had a long term future at the club, Cameron said: “Yeah yeah I really hope so.

“I guess the growth that I’ve seen over the last three years since the start, a lot of us boys have been here since the start, that’s what we’ve kind of kept our eye on and we’re steadily going up.

“The last few weeks have been a little bit disappointing but we want to turn around that as quick as we can and we’re working towards that.”

Cameron was one of the first players to join the club, arriving as a pre-selected player from the small town of Dartmoor in western Victoria.

He said he now considers Sydney home. “I really enjoy Sydney and the way it’s been going,” Cameron said.

“I think the transition’s been great and with the likes of Mel and Craig Lambert, they’ve been huge for us and the development with us boys has been great with them in charge.”

After playing 16 games in 2012 and finishing as the club’s leading goalkicker, he took the AFL by storm last season, becoming the first GIANTS player be named in the All Australian team, finishing third in the Coleman Medal and winning the Kevin Sheedy Medal as the GIANTS’ Best and Fairest player.

General Manager of Football Graeme Allan said the club would sit down with Cameron’s manager at the end of the season and look at extending his contract beyond 2015.

“Jeremy is a very talented player and an outstanding young man and we’re delighted he sees a long term future for himself at the GIANTS.”
