Moscow Five win WCG Russia (original) (raw)

Moscow Five have defeated Virtus.pro 2-1 to win the Russian WCG 2011 qualifier.

The first map of final was de_nuke. Moscow Five started on terrorists, and did well to secure seven rounds. In the second half, Moscow Five continued their rampage and jumped out to thirteen rounds, with Virtus.pro needing to change something fast. Virtus.pro managed to stop the flow of Moscow Five and started to build some momentum and secure round after round. The scores were level at 13-13, but this did not seem to phase Virtus.pro as they moved straight past Moscow Five to take de_nuke 16-13.

The second map was de_tuscan, a map Moscow Five has had good success on internationally recently. Moscow Five started as terrorists once again looked very comfortable in the first few rounds. Virtus.pro hit back and brought it back to 8-7 in favour of Moscow Five at half-time. The second half was completely dominated by Moscow Five who only needed nine rounds to take victory 16-8.

The third and final map would see the teams face off on de_train. Virtus.pro started off as terrorists and played a great half to secure a 9-6 lead after the first half. Moscow Five came out after the break and played an even better half to the take the victory 16-11.
