M5 female win Rockstar World Cup (original) (raw)

Rockstar World Cup at Stockholm E-sport Arena has come to a close, with Moscow Five's female squad winning 2-0 against Alternate's female team in the Grand Final.

After two days of matches, the Russians from Moscow Five triumphed in Stockholm, as they met Alternate in the battle for the 50,000 SEK cheque.

The Russians made it to the final via a second place in the group, which put them up against unfinished in the relegation stage. With a win there, they moved on to face Millenium, where they secured a win with a 2-0 map score.

Alternate topped their group and therefore advanced directly to the semi-final. Here they met up with Extensive, who gave them a run for the money. Alternate were able to lock it down on third map, after two overtimes.

The final started on de_dust2, with Alternate on the Terrorists side, from where they secured a 10-5 lead at half-time. Moscow Five bounced back once they got a go on the attacking side, only letting two rounds slip to Alternate, winning 16-12 for a 1-0 lead.

On second map de_train, Moscow Five were Alternate superior again, and it was clear that Alternate lacked an AWP player on the map. With a 16-9 win Moscow Five were crowned winners of Rockstar World Cup, which secured them a 50,000 SEK, worth

€5,625 or 227,832 Russian rubles.
