15th Annual Workshop of ICAR-AICRP on Plasticulture Engineering and Technologies

The ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Plasticulture Engineering and Technologies organized the “15th Annual Workshop” at ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar from 5th to 6th November, 2019.
The Chief Guest, Dr P.K. Agrawal, Vice-Chancellor, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar highlighted the success stories from different parts of the country related to the scheme. He told that all should excel in their assigned jobs.
Dr. S.N. Jha, ADG (PE), ICAR, urged the participants for carrying out the quality research, publishing the findings in high rated journals and generating the need-based technologies matching clientele’s needs. He stressed that the scheme should give more emphasis on the mandate of the ICAR-AICRP.
Dr. Bindu R. Pillai, Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar highlighted the PET Scheme’s major achievements at ICAR-CIFA since its inception in the Year - 1988. She outlined about some gadgets, such as, FRP Carp Hatchery, Silo Rearing System, Fish Feeders, Aquaponic System, FRP Pabda Hatchery, etc., that have an immense potential in the sector.
Dr. R.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana & Project Coordinator, ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Plasticulture Engineering and Technologies, Ludhiana presented a detailed report of the scheme covering all 14 cooperating centres of the country. He also highlighted about the success stories and achievements from it.
The Senior Officials various ICAR-Institutes and State Agricultural Universities participated in workshop.
