This document defines the set of IDPF-recognized types for use in the dc:type
element in Package Document metadata.
This document is informative and is not tied to a particular version of the EPUBĀ® specification.
2. Publication Types
dictionary
Identifies that the EPUB Publication represents a dictionary. Refer to the EPUB Dictionaries and Glossaries specification for more information.
distributable-object [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication contains a distributable object. Refer to the EPUB Distributable Objects specification for more information.
education [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication conforms to the EDUPUB Profile.
index
Identifies that the EPUB Publication represents an index. Refer to the EPUB Indexes specification for more information.
preview [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication is only a preview of a work. Refer to the EPUB Previews specification for more information.
scriptable-component [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication is a Scriptable Component. Refer to EPUB Scriptable Components Packaging and Integration for more information.
teacher-edition [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication contains the teacher's edition of a work. A teacher's edition differs from a teacher's guide in that it contains and annotates the text of the student edition. Refer to the EPUB EDUPUB Profile for more information.
teacher-guide [draft]
Identifies that the EPUB Publication contains a teacher's guide. A teacher's guide differs from a teacher's edition in that there is no corresponding student edition; it provides independent guidance to a teacher on some aspect of the curriculum. Refer to the EPUB EDUPUB Profile for more information.
