As Ilene Susan Fort noted in "The Figure in American Sculpture: A Question of Modernity" (1995), most kinds of 20th C. American figure sculpture are outside the canonical narrative of Modernism.

And the same can be said for figure sculpture from every other country, especially those in the Soviet Bloc, despite its prolific production in both Modern-Classical and Social Realism.

So very little has been presented by contemporary institutions of culture (universities, art museums, etc)

But rogue web museums can flourish completely outside academic norms.

And this is one of them.
