The Ointment Machine...

Seth Brundle has created a contraption, a transporter, transit, transfer interaction, in a pod you place something, it disappears and then doth spring, into another pod, completing the transaction. Alas enthusiasm can lead to bad decisions, as poor old Seth decides to go with his own frisson, makes the leap from A to B, his blinkered vision didn't see, the intruder that has joined in his revision. Now he's taking giant steps in evolution, acquiring habits that effect his constitution, morphing into a strange beast, he finds he doesn't need his teeth, although he's growing body parts and strange protrusions.

Still a wonderful piece of filmmaking with two outstanding central performances.
