Cory is an American Hero

This is truly the greatest anime ever. Better that Jo-Jo, dragon ball, or naruto. Cory saves the country on a weekly basis. He stoped a potential conflict with Russia by having a dance-off with the Russian president. He is a true American Hero!

Blah...

I am not a big fan of this show. I occasionally watch it when there is nothing else on but seriously...it's so unrealistic. Kyle Massey was good on That's So Raven but he is worse on this stupid show.

I like some of the actors. Like the President and Sophie but I just can't watch it. It is an very overrated show. Not sure why when they first showed this, they showed it weekly because most of the time, new Disney shows get shown on weekends but instead, they had to show this weird show everyday.

Not a big fan of Newt. He's just plain stupid and doesn't do the best of job on here.

They should of never created this spin-off. Should of just stuck with That's So Raven because Kyle Massey isn't ready for an leading role.

All in all a good enough show

A masterpiece.

Cory in the House is a misunderstood masterpiece. It is the definition of genius. Best anime ever created. 10/10.

A reflection on what "Disney" truly is...

I speak on behalf of all the dedicated fans and devotees to the late and great Walt Disney. This horrible excuse for a television show does not even deserve to fit under the sit-com genre, let alone call it a property of Disney. It is difficult for me to describe this programme when you've made a summarization of words that define "Cory in the House". These words could be passé, pitiful, pathetic, disgusting, inexperienced or whatever term fits within the same context. Anyway...

To be honest, after seeing the countless promotions for this show, I had high expectations, knowing the geniuses behind "That's So Raven" were in charge of production. It would seem like Cory Baxter would carry out his older sister Raven's legacy as THE Disney Channel character. But as the show was released to all Foxtel Digital subscribers here in Australia, alas... my mouth was flooded with vomit. The creator's attempt at creating seemingly humorous phrases with words no human being has ever heard of... very poor portrayal of characters, such as Newt Livingston's stupidity-without-reason and Sophie Martinez's vibrant yet vindictive personality... unrealistic scenarios that make it difficult for the audience to relate to their OWN scenarios, such as Cory Baxter's wish to become the president of the U.S.A. becoming a reality and in turn becoming the primary target of a race of extraterrestrials... everything... "Cory in the House" is basically a poor man's "Seinfeld"...

Every time I see this title under the day's schedule, I try to avoid it, of course. I peek at the episode rarely, because I believe that the producers have the potential to make this show Emmy-worthy. Then again, these beliefs of mine were stomped on by these lukewarm scenes that aren't worthy of being transmitted to a television operated with a crank... "Cory in the House" = TV's poison, bane and demise...

I'd rate ita 0 out of 10, but a 1 out of 10 is the lowest I can get...

Second Worst Show on Disney

Hate it

I know hate is a very strong word, but I truly dislike this show. Don't get me wrong I love Disney, both their films and their shows but over the years they have well and truly gone downhill. Cory in the House is one of the worst shows ever to air on the Disney channel, in my opinion that is, it is even worse than Hannah Montana, which was a good example of a show that was entertaining for the wrong reasons. There is for me no entertainment value in Cory in the House.

So why do I dislike this show? Firstly, the sets and camera work are incredibly tacky. Secondly, the story lines are incredibly predictable and even unrealistic at times. Thirdly, the writing and jokes fall flat constantly and very unfunny. Fourthly, the characters are stereotypical and unlikeable, especially Cory, in fact Sophie is the only likable character, she is a cutie. Fifthly, the acting is awful, with little sense of comic timing or chemistry and the way Cory and Meena act is close to cringe worthy. Sixthly, the direction is stodgy.

Overall, in my opinion this is a horrible show, sorry I just find it predictable and unfunny. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Just Sad.

Disney Channel is just trying to get every last cent that they can out of a show by mooching it until there is less than 0 personality, originality, or fun left. Kyle Massey was a good actor on Raven, but not here. I think it's because he doesn't like it-I've noticed that when good actors are put into bad shows, they tend to be worse actors. The show lacks very many funny scenes altogether, and, although it's sad, the best actor is probably Madison Pettis, the seven year old. Also, Wizards of Waverly Place is pretty much the same to me. No originality whatsoever, but this is for Cory in The House, and in conclusion, I'd like to say.....poor Kyle.

This is beyond normal human comprehension

Cory in the house is a masterpiece, a statement of human ingenuity. I personally know someone who found inner enlightenment when he heared the words "Cory in the House" mentioned. As it is, by far the most tasteful anime of all time, it is the greatest human achievement that has ever been, or will ever be. I believe that the anime itself is the second coming of Jesus. I highly recommend this anime to all forms of life.

Good show overall

This show was a staple part my childhood. I admit that there were indeed better shows on the three kids' channels at the time like SpongeBob, Drake and Josh, iCarly, and Phineas and Ferb to name a few, but I have very fond memories of Cory in the House nevertheless. I think people need to watch That's So Raven first to have better understanding and appreciation for this show. It's no anime masterpiece like Dragon Ball Z or Sailor Moon, but I'd recommend this to anyone who grew up in the mid to late 2000's like myself.

There are a few redeeming qualities, you just have to search for them.

A weak spin-off from Disney.

"Cory in the House" debuted in 2007 where it marked the first Disney Channel spin-off to the popular "That's so Raven" where Raven Symone (who serves as executive producer to both "Raven" and "Cory") proved that she is the first young woman and African American to have her own TV show succeeding in more than 100 episode breaking the Disney contract along with making her a star on demand. She even wanted a TV show spin-off based on her hit show.

The show's premise deals with Cory Baxter (Kyle Massey) and his father, Victor (Rondell Sheridan) moving to Washington D.C. after getting notice from President Martinez (John D'Aquino). While being in The White House, Cory meets interesting characters from a senator's son, Newt (Jason Dolley), who happens to be a airhead; Meana (Maiara Walsh), who happens to be the ambassador's daughter; Jason Stickler (Jake Thomas of "Lizzie McGuire"), a cheap man's 007 with gadgets to make him want to put a paper bag on his head and Sophie Martinez (Madison Pettis), who is America's angel and the president's daughter. Each episode goes through certain slapsticks with Cory always getting in trouble or not being a man to take responsible for his actions.

Overall, I found it to be one of Disney's weaker shows where the character of Cory used to be a cool guy on "Raven" who cared about money and stood by his friends and family no matter what where in this show he's a cheap man's version of Will Smith acting very slick where he's not even cool to be like Mr. Smith himself. Cory is much a cry-baby with his stupid lines such as "Daddy NO!" and " (insert name), what are we gonna do?" The character of Victor Baxter doesn't do much but has some moments; the breakout stars however are Madison Pettis, Maiara Walsh and Jason Dolley where their characters are much more interesting to look at than Kyle Massey's Cory and feels as if one of them should be the main character and kick Cory out for good.

What can I say... PHENOMINAL

I just love how Cory is a positive role model to young pre-teens, it just adds that extra zinger to every episode, and there are some good episodes and some.... REALLY GOOD EPISODES. Like the one when he takes his pants off and the secret service has to catch him but he is covered in baby oil and he just slips through their arms with his oily doughy body. If i had to rate this out of ten, I would give it an A+.

What a RIPOFF

I take it they were trying to do a boyish, more masculine version of the successful "That's So Raven". First let me just say I find in interesting how this show marks Disney Channel's first ever spin-off show to another Disney Channel series and yet it FAILED, big time. This is a complete insult to "That's So Raven" and to Kyle Massey and Rondell Sheridan.

First of all, the theme song sounds HORRIBLE. I hate it. When I watch the show, I would skip the intro so I don't have to listen to that horrible theme.

The only episode I actually cared for was the "That's So in the House" episode that Raven cameo'd in, and that episode needed a bit of work. I mean, sure, I tried watching other episodes but the show is not at all watchable in the slightest, what a waste of a production. I'm surprised this show even made it to Season 2! No, really, how did CITH make it to Season 2? I'm dying to know!

To sum up, I agree with all the other negative reviews of Cory in the House, the acting is weak, the comedy is either overdone or weak, just... just a completely unwatchable show altogether. I mean, I love Disney shows and movies, but, Disney, please step it up.

The President Is A Big Fan Of Rondell Sheridan's Cooking

As that other Disney series That's So Raven wound down and out in its final third year, average for a Disney series, the President of the United States John D'Aquino somehow heard about or tasted father Rondell Sheridan's cooking. Rondell made his living as a chef. The president was so impressed with his culinary skills that he invited Rondell to live at the White House and permanently cook there. So for at least four years Mr. Sheridan has a job.

For reasons I can't explain the invitation did not include the women of the Baxter family. Raven Symone daughter and T'Keyah Crystal Keymah didn't make the trip to Washington. But Kyle Massey as Cory Baxter did and he's living high in the White House. Hence the title of the show.

His new found White House status means this average kid Cory is now moving in some new circles. He's going to an exclusive school now, populated with the children of big movers and shakers, both foreign and domestic. His new love is an ambassador's daughter from some unnamed Eastern country Maiara Walsh. And his best friend Jason Dolley has the very WASP name of Newton Livingston, aka Newt. That boy's ambition instead of an Ivy League path of success is to make rock 'n roll. He's also the best character on the show, so incredibly brain dead.

Half the episodes center on Cory's school life and half of them center on the White House. The president has a lovely little daughter Madison Pettis nicknamed America's Angel and she plays that for all it's worth in her dealings. But next to Dolley the best thing about the show is President Valenzuela, the first Latino president of the United States. A well meaning decent guy, but a bit fatuous he's probably an improvement over any of the candidates running now.

It's probably in the lower half of the Disney Channel shows, some of the situations are forced and face it way too unrealistic. Still it's not bad that the concept of a Latino president is floated out of the Magic Kingdom.

But I'm waiting for when the folks at Disney decide that Jason Dolley's Newt ought to meet Brenda Song's London Tipton from The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody. If they ever marry the children from that union might push back the evolution of mankind for a hundred generations.

not as bad as everyone says

OK this show wasn't that bad, it wasn't as good as thats so raven but still wasn't that bad. Some jokes weren't funny and enertertaining but it wasn't that bad. I know the first season was kinda cheesy but the show got better in the second season. I liked the second season, some episodes were nice and creative. It shows Cory more mature and Sophie is in it more. Sophie is so fcking sexy (AHHH) The episodes do seem funnier and have better taste. Its too bad this show didn't live up to its expectations and got canceled. Although it could have been a hell a lot better.

Try watching this show, its really not that lame and bad

Terrible Spin-Off! This Show is HORRIBLE!

I loved That's So Raven! One of the best Disney Channel sitcoms. I remember when I first saw a commercial for this show I said right away, this show isn't last long and I was right! This show flopped hard BIG TIME! God, this show was AWFUL!

Where do I begin! First, the premise was stupid. Cory and the dad Victor move into the White House after Victor gets a job as one of his new chefs. How lame is that? Is that seriously the best they can think of.

The acting is atrociously bad! The cast is full of these no talent crappy actors. I enjoyed Kyle Massey as Cory on That's So Raven. He was great as the conniving little brother. But on this show? Kyle's acting is embarrassingly horrible. He overacts to an all time high. His acting consist of over the top camera mugging facial expressions. You just want to smack him in the face. Puberty wasn't very kind to Massey either. He's not cute anymore. Another issue is Kyle Massey isn't leading main character material. He worked better as a co-star. Cory was more likable on That's So Raven. On his show Cory is unlikable and comes across as a cocky arrogant jerk. He's trying to act like some lame Will Smith wannabe. He sucks!

His two best friends Newt and Meena played Jason Dolley and Maiara Walsh. Newt is the guitar playing shaggy haired generic idiot character. And Meena is a some foreign exchange student from a fake country called Bahavia and she has the worst fake accent I ever heard. Lame... both of these characters suck plus, Walsh and Dolley are also terrible actors.

And then we have the cute kid character that is Sophie aka the president's daughter. She's terrible. Her character is a huge spoiled unlikable brat who were all supposed to find adorable. Yuck! Madison Pettis who plays her is a terrible child actress. She cannot act! One of the worst child actors I ever witness! She's so annoying and obnoxious, I just wanna punch her disgusting gap teeth in her ugly gremlin face.

The President Martinez and his lady assistant are both boring and uninteresting. YAWN...... Victor Baxter isn't given much to do and is just... there.

The rest of the supporting cast stinks and are completely forgettable. This show's plot are just plain idiotic! Cory accidentally boards on a plane to Russia and then the President of Russia engages in a dance- off video game with the him to keep Alaska? Who write this garbage??? The comedy and jokes are completely unfunny and stupid.

Overall, they should of never created this show. The plots were stupid, acting is horrible, unlikable/unappealing characters, premise is lame, completely directionless, unfunny corny jokes. The character of Cory wasn't worthy of a spin-off show. And Kyle Massey didn't have the talent that Raven-Symone had, that made That's So Raven a huge hit. This crappy show proved not every character needs a spin-off. This was one Disney Channel's least successful sitcoms. It was canceled after 38 episodes and forgotten about very quickly. Why? Because it sucked major ass!

Best Anime Of ALL TIME!

When it come to the greatest TV show of all times, people generally think of Breaking Bad, Game of Throne, The Wire and the likes of other old highly critical acclaims that no one of today give an F anymore.

but this... this is beyond our comprehension, it's so maleficent, it's so greatness, it's so god damn freaking awesomely scientifically extremely artistically critically legendarily deeply traditionally modernly presently grammatically phenomenon that for the very first time in the history of white, black, Asian, Indian, Christian, Muslim, LGBT, republic, democracy, communist, anarchy, monarchy, football, soccer, apple, Samsung, PlayStation, Xbox, Relativity, Quantum mechanics, mankind, woman-species, May-weather and a book... that FINALLY united all of us/it TOGETHER !!!

Not only that, It's so much universally cutting edge, much breakthrough, wow! Alien that it can re-define the modern physics as we all know of today.

In another sentences, Cory in the House is the GOAT - Greatest Of All Time!

why compare this to an atrocity like "That's So Raven?"

Don't get me wrong people this show isn't terribly exciting, but to say that "That's So Raven" was good is the biggest stretch ever. Watch 2 episodes back to back of both these shows and notice a pattern, predictable, boring and just average to bad. Under no circumstances should the reviews be based on the comparison of the show of which this is a spin off. Jason Dolley's character is a little too dense and makes Chelsea look like a genius. Madison Pettis is the most annoying character to me, she switches from nice to bad from episode to episode, it's called continuation, the writer's should have kept the pattern and not made it this awful. In any case, neither of them are extremely great and should be passed over for higher quality television.
