"Family Guy" Peter's Progress (TV Episode 2009) - Trivia - IMDb (original) (raw)

Edit

The title is based on the English classic "Pilgrim's Progress" written by John Bunyan in 1678 and is considered one of the most significant literary works published in the English language.

Griffin Peterson's talent show act is taken from 'Revenge of the Nerds.'

Peter states his happiness that he's almost three hundred years away from the films of Kevin Smith. Smith stated in his podcast: "Hollywood Babble-On" with occasional Family Guy guest Ralph Garman, that it comes from Smith's friend and cinematographer Dave Klein who, on the commentary of Clerks (2000) (the animation), said some disparaging things against Family Guy. Seth MacFarlane has made fun of Kevin Smith several more times.

For 5 years, this was Cleveland's last appearance as a regular character. He later made his official return in He's Bla-ack! He did however make 18 guest appearances in between, even in the episode that followed right after.
