WELCOME

Festival is one of the three largest and most important sound and film music festivals in the world.

ISFMF is promoting awareness of the importance of music and sound as irreplaceable elements of film. The festival also provides visibility to audiovisual professions who work in the field of composing music, sound design and sound mixing.

Also, it was a great pleasure to meet the city major who is doing great effort to make her city a city of culture.
The award ceremony and the entire spectacle was well organized with performances by talented musicians.

Michael Minkler

sound designer

one of Hollywood's top sound designers with three Oscar® wins and 13 nominations, including three BAFTA Awards. He is responsible for the fantastic sound in films such as TRON, JFK, Black Hawk Down, Collateral, Chicago, Kingdom of Heaven, Dreamgirls, Into the Wild, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and many others.

Robert Townson

music producer

is the most prolific film music producer in the world. Robert has been described as "the living embodiment of the history of film music". His lifelong passion for film and classical music has made him one of the world's greatest film music educators, inspiring others through his lectures, writings, concerts and recordings. He released over 1400 albums.

Stephen Warbeck

composer

British composer, best known for his film and television music. He became famous for his score for Prime Suspect and he won an Academy Award® for his score for Shakespeare in Love. He won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music in a Play, as well as numerous awards for Billy Elliot and Captain Corelli's Mandolin. In 2020, he directed his first feature film, The Thin Man, which has since been renamed in France as The Man in the Hat, starring Ciarán Hinds and Stephen Dillane.

Richard King

sound designer

American sound designer and winner of four Oscars®, is responsible for the magnificent sound in the films Dunkirk, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Thor, The Dark Knight, War of the Worlds, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Master and Commander and Signs.

Randy Thom

sound designer

two-time Oscar® winner and one of the most important and respected sound designers in Hollywood. His masterpieces include films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Forrest Gump, Contact, Cast Away, Harry Potter, The Polar Express, The Incredibles, War of the World, Ratatouille, How to Train Your Dragon, Flight, The Revenant and many others. Randy Thom is the director of sound design at Skywalker Sound, the largest and most important sound studio in the world, which is also part of George Lucas' Lucasfilm Company.

Croatian composer, director, writer and producer, also founder and artistic director of the International Sound & Film Music Festival.

The Inventor

The Inventor (1h 40min); animated film; directors: Jim Capobianco and Pierre-Luc Granjon; cast: Stephen Fry, Matt Berry, Daisy Ridley; music by Alex Mandel; co-production: USA, France, Ireland. The Inventor is an innovative animated film that follows the life of Leonardo da Vinci, exploring his fascinating inventions and brilliant ideas through stop-motion animation. I'm Perfectly Fine (30:00); animated film; director: Dario van Vree; composer: Hans Nieuwenhuijsen; Netherlands. As a freelance illustrator and perfectionist, Maya's life is fun fun fun, but also busy busy busy. She perfectly pulls through her work assignments and social activities, thanks to a supportive 'inner voice' whom she affectionately calls her 'Little Motivator'. But when Maya suddenly gets a full-on panic attack and has to slow down for a while, her deepest fear becomes reality: she can no longer be perfect...

With nothing but her bicycle, she travels through the Croatian mountains and arrives at a crossroads, where she meets a stranger named Mia. Together, they embark on a journey during which Olivia gains a deeper understanding of what life has to offer. She struggles with doubts, pain, and the question of what true love is. Alone, confronted with her inner emotions, she must find answers to discover herself amidst all of life's puzzles.
