Jacksonport Historical Society (original) (raw)
Welcome To The Jacksonport Historical Society Site
The mission of the Jacksonport Historical Society is educational in nature through the study of the Township of Jacksonport, its history, people, land and buildings. The Society's intent is to promote this education through historical programs, research, publications, commemorative activities, collection of tangible historical memorabilia and to establish a museum to house, exhibit and preserve this material for future generations.
At monthly meetings families share their ancestral heritage through family stories, pictures
and heirlooms. This information is then written and published to be sold with the intentions of establishing a museum to display and record the history and artifacts of Jacksonport. Videos and DVDs are also made of the presentations for the archives.
Our meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month, June through September at the Jacksonport Town Hall on County Road V. Meeting Time: 7PM, with the exception of our dinner meetings. Details on the dinner meeting will be forthcoming.
Refreshments are served after our family presentations and everyone is always welcome. More information on our families can be found in our newsletters, also on this Website and in the books. Fill out your calendar now and plan to attend each month during our season.
