Effervescent drummer, Kobie Watkins - one of Chicago's favorites - presented a CD release performance at the Jazz Showcase recently, which was captured by photographer John Broughton. Helping Kobie out was an All-Star cast, including trumpeter Pharez Whitted, saxophonist Jarrard Harris, pianist Ryan Cohan, bassist Clark Sommers and guitarist Bobby Broom (a fellow member with Watkins of Sonny Rollins' group).
