Chicago's recent hot weather has been ideal for the many outdoor music events and festivals that this city is noted for during the summer. A recent event featured outstanding vocalist Julia Huff and her exceptional band mates.

Huff and her "company" band of drummer Malcolm Bands, bassist Mark Sorksen and keyboardist Robert Irving III played before a capacity crowd on the patio of MCA under a beautiful sun filled sky. This weekly event occurs each Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:00 throughout the summer.

Julia primarily performed jazz standards highlighted by Nina Simone's "I'm Feeling Good", Randi Crawford's "End of Line" and Phyllis Hyman's "You Know How To Love Me". The crowd continuously responded to these numbers and other with rousing ovations. Julia is such a pleasure to listen to and on this occasion she was at her best.

Yes, Chicago is definitely the place to be for "Hot Fun In The Summertime." The above reviewed set is only one of the many activities that one can catch throughout the summer. Refer to jazzchicago.net for additional events throughout the area.
