OLYMPIC CHAMPION|CEO & FOUNDER RYA HEALTH

Olympic Champion. Guinness World Record Holder. Stanford Graduate School of Business Leadership Award Winner. Women's Healthtech CEO & Founder.
From winning Olympic gold medals, to Safe Sport policy builder and women’s healthtech CEO and founder, I am driven to build and sustain high performance that is positive, inclusive, and forward-thinking.
Today, as CEO and founder of RYA health, my mission is to leverage technology to scale Olympic level health care for all women so they can get timely care. I’m taking my passion for changing the rules of the game, facing obstacles head on, and creating diverse teams to redefine the future of women’s health.
It all started as a five year old shy daredevil. I was unimpressed by my dad trying to hold my hand on the “mega, death defyingly high” hyped up waterslide. One tour down, and I had already slipped from his grasp. I’ve been obsessed with redrawing the lines of “impossible” ever since.
After demonstrating that I could do “impossible” things by making the Canadian Freestyle Olympic Ski Team as a 17 year old living in the Canadian Prairies, the next logical step was to figure out how to do the impossible repeatedly. That’s when I made the commitment to always choose fear. I did this by combining discipline with artistry - winning Olympic gold (2006) and silver medals (2010), achieving the Guinness World Record for number of gold medals won at a Freestyle Skiing World Championships and being the first person to win all major titles in the sport, completing the “Freestyle Skiing Grand Slam.”
I learned from my greatest competitor from Norway, Kari Traa, how to show up with both grit and grace. From that moment on I strived to compete collectively. I built a multi-disciplinary team and shared this approach with hundreds of other athletes by Co-Founding B2Ten. This organization empowers and provides resources for athletes across different sports to take control of their training by creating their own multi-disciplinary teams. This was a truly disruptive approach, challenging the givens of training protocols.
After retirement from skiing, I expanded my focus to building my family. A hard to diagnose health issue found me struggling to hold my 8 lb newborn son. I struggled to find care. This is why I’m building RYA health, to provide winning level healthcare for all women.
In skiing, life, and health my goal is always high performance that endures. I call this “Sustaining the Shred.”
