'Beauty and the Beast' gets full-season order - Los Angeles Times (original) (raw)

The CW has given rookie fantasy crime drama “Beauty and the Beast” a full-season order.

The series, a revamp of the 1980s CBS drama of the same name, is pulling in decent numbers for the network with “The Vampire Diaries” as its lead-in, averaging 2.4 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among women 18-34.

The Thursday drama, which stars Kristin Kreuk (“Smallville”) and Jay Ryan (“Terra Nova”), is the second of the network’s three freshman series to get a full-season order, joining “Arrow.” Still no word on the fate of its young adult medical drama “Emily Owens M.D.”
