Other users can view your Scrapbook at https://exampleusername.livejournal.com/photo/. This page can also be accessed by clicking the "Scrapbook" link in the statistics section at the top of your profile.

You can control who can see your Scrapbook pictures using the Security menu, found by clicking the security icon when uploading pictures or editing them later. There are three default security settings: Everyone (Public) (visible to anyone), Friends (visible to anyone on your Friends list), and Just Me (Private) (visible only to you). In addition, you can also choose any one of your custom friends groups.

Gallery security

In addition to image security, each album can also have its own security setting. You can set the security for an album when creating or editing an album. The available security options are the same as for individual images; Everyone (Public) (visible to anyone), Friends (visible to anyone on your Friends list), and Just Me (Private) (visible only to you), and your custom friends groups.
Changing the security of an album does not change the security of the images that appear in that album.

Special note on conflicting security levels

Images can have a different security setting than the album or entry they appear in. There are several implications this can have:

1. An image with a lower security setting than the album it appears in.
   Typically this would mean a public image in a private or friends-only album, but it could also apply to a friends-only image in a private album.
   The result of a situation like this is that anyone with the URL of the direct image, or the URL of the image display page, can see the image, even if they're not authorized to see the album. For example, this public image is contained inside a private album.
   This is often used so that you can include an image in an entry, or link to an individual picture, without allowing access to an entire album.
2. An image with a higher security setting than the album it appears in.
   Typically this would be a private or friends-only image in a public album, but it also applies to a private image in a friends-only album.
   The result of a situation like this is that the album is visible to many people, but not everyone will see all the images contained in that album. For example, this private image is contained in a public album.
   This is often used so that you can group similar images together without having to create a separate album for each security level.

Image security vs. entry security

It's worth pointing out that entries can have their own security level, and like the security of an album it has no affect on the security level of the individual images that appear in that entry. You can have a public image, in a private album, in a friends-only entry, and the effect would be that anyone who knew the URL of the image would be able to see it. To make sure that an image can only be seen by the people you intend to see it, you must edit the security of the image directly.
Default image security level corresponds to the one you set for entries on the privacy tab of the settings page. You can change image security level to the one less secure than default while editing the image after upload.
