How do I add images to my entries, comments, or profile? (original) (raw)

Add an image to your entry by pasting it in the New Post editor or by using corresponding buttons on the entry editor menu. You can also use ScrapBook's Add to Post option to add images to your entries.
To add images to comments, you can use "Insert photo" button in the editing comment area, or HTML. If a comment page is displayed in the default site scheme, you can also paste an image from your clipboard to a comment.
To add images to your Bio section on profile page, you must use HTML.

You can add images to your entry in the New Post editor with these methods:

The following methods are available in the old editor:

When you paste images from your clipboard or add them from your PC, they are automatically uploaded to your Scrapbook.
All images embedded from other web-sites must be stored on sites that allow remote loading to LiveJournal. Otherwise, your friends will not be able to see such images.

Adding Images with HTML

You can use HTML to add images to your profile, comments or to an entry created in the old entry editor. When using the old Post an Entry page, you need to click the HTML tab before you can use the examples given here. In all of the following examples, replace http://www.example.com/image.jpg with the actual URL of the image and replace title or description with the title or description of your choice (which will appear when the image cannot be loaded, or for users using screen-reading software):

_title or description_

You can specify the image's size by replacing y with the image height in pixels from top to bottom, and x with the image width in pixels from right to left. Note that in some journal styles the "height" attribute is disabled.

_title or description_

If you want to shrink or enlarge the image, use percentages or different numbers than the actual size. Make sure to replace 75% with your numbers or percentages:
