(and here i thought that god was bullshit, clearly i've got the wrong animal)fly kills: 0. I think they are dormant because of fall.Its been way too long so just to update. One: i am being evicted and have about 19 days left to find a new place to live. Obviously nivek is the reason i am being evicted and without going into detail he pissed my parents off so here we are. I will either have to reduce classes to two a semester (which i really don't want to do because i just want it over with, dreaded capstone requirement and all!) or quit school altogether depending on our financial situation. On the plus side if i quit i can return to csm and complete my nearly complete AA while simulateneously paying off debt. ugh debt. Two: at about two in the morning on November 2nd i was checking out national novel writing month and decided what the hell? Lets give it a try! So now i am obligated to reach 50,000 words by the end of the month. As if i didn't already have at least two papers to write every week. Whatever. I've only got to about 700 words so far so i've got a long way to go. Its a bit hard because its loosely historically based so i can't ignore things like when people were born. Anyone want to join me? We can all read eachothers novels at then end of the month and opinionate, yay! (If i manage to get one person to call my work trash i will have achieved my goal). Other things: A couple of weeks ago i got together with Stina, the onion, my honey, courtney and later Marc, Melissa and tony to discuss stuff and catch up like we don't do much anymore. We started talking about Heidegger and this thing calle Desain about the theory of self. That spawned us all to go hang out with Eric the next week for semi philosophical reason and pizza. For Courtney's birthday, the 29th, which we celebrated the day before since it was a Sunday. My onion sent an onion that was weird and almost bonsai. We went out to dinner and bowling which was fun but exhasting. I seem to remember hitting the ball more last time it bowled, am i getting worse in my old age? Nothing happened on Halloween except that i went to school wearing my pirate gear sans gun and sword. Note: need to get gun and/or sword to complete outfit. I've been packing things in preperation for the move and trying to throw out what i can, but its hard to part with a lot of them. Its even harder for nivek who insists on keeping everything. I've also found that i've read a lot more books than i originally thought. Like i thought i was in the three hundreds somewhere but after throwing away at least fifty books that frankly weren't very good and at least another twenty that i can always rent from the library or were strips, I think i need to revise that number. I mean most of the strips i got from work i would read once and throw away and then you have to take into factor that it normally takes me on average about three days to finish a book and throw it away and that i've been doing this for about four or five years now....... thats a lot of books. Mostly mediocre books, but still. eeek.current mood: exhausted (3 comments | comment on this) Sunday, June 10th, 2007 12:06 pm - last couple of weeks busy busy busy. Two weeks ago was baycon. It was weird havin it at a new hotel and my honey and i agreed that it sucked not having a room. That friday i dressed up like a pirate for pirates day. I met up with 'Stina and drove down to meet Courtney and Eric. Courtney got locked out so she couldn't get piratey. aw. And me and stina couldn't find seats except in the front. I heard lots of people whispering (nice costume! They're from fanime i bet). I haven't decided if i like the end yet of the pirates 3 movie. We celebrated his 32nd birthday on that sat. at BJs and had a really big uneatened cake which inevitably i did my best to eat by my lonesome. ugh. cake. I wore the buckly dress to con for the first time and got the high bid at the klingon slave auction (it was the buckles it bet) to a nice errr older man named roger. No one said what i was supposed to do though so my master bought me a drink and we talked a lot. Apparently he died once and has two bad knees and lives like four hours away. Then we wandered and i danced a little and wandered some more and that was about it. It was a very low key con. That sunday i went to fanime with Ray. I've never seen so many costumed people in one spot! And it strained the upper reaches of my anime/manga knowledge to identify them all. I asked Ray to take pics for me cause i didn't want to bother. I also never saw so many people with 'hug me'/'glomp me'/'free hugs'/'glomp me if you dare'/'hugs?'/'my pants were stolen i need a hug' signs in one place. Some of them got into a circle and whenever some one happened to walk in the middle someone would yell "group hug!! and everyone would tackle the bewildered person. "SUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a hug-friendly con. Ray was happy. I saw Courtney and Eric in the game room and Cameron and Chris Jara. I eventually saw Travis (dressed as joker from ROD) and Tom (staffing) and Kendra. After getting tired of wandering i found my sister and her two friends (one of them was a cloud) and drove the whole drive of them home. Then i had some much needed dinner at harrys hoffbrau. Everything i had been wearing up till that day didn't really allow room for eating and i had managed about one meal a day somehow. This weekend was Amys birthday. So yesterday there was a reservation for twelve at the circus center for circus classes. One person dropped out though because of surgery. So we learned to tumble forward and then backwards and over a stick and through a hoop. Then we tried juggling (which i only got up to two balls, but eric did 3) and diablos and spinning plates with sticks (which i tried my darndest to do but just couldn't manage despite my many invocations of help from my ancestrel chinese blood. Damn it i'm chinese aren't i?!?!), balancing a peacock feather, these unicycle sort of thingies which i did okay on, and tightrope walking (two steps was all i got). There was also these ribbon things that are suposed to be training for fire dancing that marc tried but failed. We kept telling him it was like jump rope and then he said he didn't have one (gasp). Cristophe managed to get three plates spinning at once and Eric handed me one while i was on the unicycley thingy so i could pedal with it. Then we had trapeze and trampoline. Trapeze was HARD. The lack of upper body strength aside i just couldn't get my feet UP there. Long legs. I had to have the lady help me. And then i had to hang by them and later just by my feet wrapped around the rope (ouch). The trampoline was more fun but still hard cause i couldn't land right. My feet kept not being flat. Courtney hurt her toe too. Poor thing. She and Eric left afterwards and most of the rest of us went to the picnic. There was yummy incredible berry cheesecake and lots of conversation and then me and Marc went home. He fell asleep while i was driving so i stopped by niveKs work to visit my honey and get a jumprope to give to him. He got home and tried it a little until his niece and nephew took it and showed him how it was DONE. I got one too cause i felt nostalgic and went home to play with my sister cause she was bored. Neither of us could remember any rhymes though and eventually i gave it over to mom who showed me how it was REALLY done. She said she didn't have time for such things but she smiled. Trisha came by later so we could watch Apocalypto which i liked. The constant male nudity might have been a factor. She and Damien spent the night and are just now up. I woke up with all sorts of aches and pains not normal to my body. groan. Okay so i'm a week late in posting. eh. i spent new years eve calling in sick from work using courtneys accident as an excuse. Oh but we really did see a doctor in the end so it works out. Besides working after not sleeping all night was not a good idea. I found out in the wee hours of the morning that if Christians (oh by the way I periodically call Christian Gil because it's just so much easier to. She got this name because she like her showers so much she might as well be a fish) sanity took a form it would be grapes of purple color and if distilled into a wine it would be called last hope. yeah. It was a long night. Stina actually stayed up to help pleat my skirt so that it got done faster (thank the gods! i love that woman), but fell asleep. I managed to finish my costume in record time! I started on tuesday and finished on sunday, the day of the camelot ball. We were ofcourse fashionably late (again) and courtney was not feeling well, but she looked great in her gold dress that got done just in time! Like boy were we hurrying! Gil spent the entire night working on the gold corset that ended up not working because her boobs kept popping out... so somehow christian decided to wear it, which makes no sense cause shes got like twice the boobage, *shrug* whatever. Travis was being no help at all and being Travis. We got a cake out of it though cause all the food was being taken away when we got there and i got lots of complements on my dress including a random one from the apparently much stalked Gregory! Yay! Christina got her dance and Gil danced alot with me. Oh and we met the brothers Eric which live nearby i guess and somehow Gil ended up talking to with regards to my panties (Black at the time with a gingerbread man and the words "for santa" written on them). Oh and i lost my earring but found it again. Yay! Somehow we made it back and changed and cleaned up the sewing mess we made. Gil and i went home and after bit of calculation realized that we went the entirety of Sunday with only one meal the entire day. My stomach at that point wanted to argue with my brain in something that went like this:Brain: ohh..... so sleepyStomach: Forget sleep! Feed me!!! What were you thinking! Then i slept... and slept.... and woke at 5pm or so to get dressed and take Courtney to go see a doctor. No worries there thankfully. Just a concussion. Tuesday night coffee: we managed to get people that normally don't show, show! Marc, Monica, Kendra, and Trish who brought her stuffed crow to show Courtney came to join our usual Christina, Courtney, Mike crowd. No Gil this time though. On the plus side i found out i can do a payment plan for reg fees. Yesterday i met up with the girls (and Mike) for what we are trying to make into a routine tuesday coffee thing except that we went to harrys hofbrau for a change. great enchiladas. And Courtney brought a pound of chocolate truffles that managed to disappear somehow in puff of yum. I am trying to watch my way through the first season of west wing and the second season lost while leveling up my suikoden character pahn. Oh and i'm like uber broke so the number people i actually have to buy gifts for is about nine. This is including immediate family to me and niveK. Not much has happened lately and now i have a month to rest up (yeah right) before next semester starts. Still have nothing on the site. Last night niveK accidently knocked over gil's fish bowl and while scrambling to find the fish (which we did find in time to save after many frantic moving various objects out of the wayness) many of our books and mags got ruined. oh well. I didn't really need four years worth of heavy metal issues anyways. What i really should do is box up most of the books since they are slowly taking over our living space and there wasn't that much living space to start with. Many a time in the dead of night have i knocked over book that had crept close to the bed trying to advance to line of knowledge. see? It's up to me to put them in their place. Went to the dickens fair yesterday with Courtney and Tim. I shopped and got high from sniffing soaps and had my first turkish coffee! Yay. I saw Wild Bill and Charles Darwin and Scrooge and the ghost of christmas present. I saw some really old books at the bookstore and ate something called a euro which was nummy. Then we decided to crank call the victorians. See apparently there is a telegram service for five dollars where a messenger will run around london shouting out the receivers name until they find the dude and give it to him. So we sent one to mr. Darwin that said "your pokemon has evolved to level 12" and then followed the boy hoping to catch Darwins reaction. Alas no such luck, Darwin was no where to be found at the adventurers club, but our messenger got intercepted by others from the club who said that they would take it to him... and of course read it while we were giggling nearby. he he he good day.current mood: giggly (comment on this) Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 7:53 pm - lots of stuff SO. On the 28 of October i went to the formal masked ball with Stina, Travis, Courtney, and Marc and we were all dressed in the costumes that we'd worked so hard on (except Marc who half-assed it in a day, and Travis who ebay'ed). Apparently i gained a domain name 'cause Courtney purchased it as an early christmas gift (squel bounce bounce sqee squel bounce squel bounce of joy). So now i own morbidfashionation.com. yay!!! Aren't friends grand? I had an eye exam thursday so it's now official: i am super fucking blind! Nothing wrong otherwise though. Last Saturday Nov. 4 i went to the vampire ball with Travis, Courtney and Natalia whom i have not seen in years. That was lots of fun! I got more complements on my wedding-buckly dress also courtesy of Courtney. (mental love signal) Then the next day while still feelin the pain in my thighs i finally caved in and bought the laptop that i am currently writing on. It was too good of a deal and i had the money since niveK's mom gave me it as a birthday present. Then that same day the damn laptop wouldn't let me go online. Yesterday i had a deadline for a drawing so naturally once i had to do something else the dame laptop let me go online. grumble. Today my i missed my first class and while i was sitting outside in the cafeteria my teacher caught me. OOps. I looked at the waist cincher that Kym wanted to get today and helped convince her to purchase it from this one place next to house of humor and got treated to some cheap mexican food at a pupusaria by her and this guy shawn. I've got my review, the take home quiz and the last two homework assignments to do plus studying for the final. The website says that Bowling for Soup is gonna be here for the County fair on the 14th so i'm planning on taking the Onion (not the vegetable) and anyone else to go see them. Fly kills:0Mosquito kills: 7 (where are these things coming from?)Yesterday i went to find my regular journal to update but it turns out Trish ran off with it so i thought i'd update this one instead. Last Sunday the 30th we had our dessert day! Courtney and I managed to finangle twelve people together to have okonomyaki which somehow ended with lots of tasy sake. Oh and Courtney looke awesome!! She had this great corset over a fishnet shirt and skirt. I even at the last minute got Marc who apparently did not go to North Carolina but neglected to tell me such. Everything was sooo yummy and little Daemien, who is normally rather picky, tried everything and like it! So lets see we had Marc, Mike, Kendra, Robb, my honey, Courtney, Travis, Trish, Daemien, Christoff, Jann?, And Stina! We got about a dozen spoons to see if you could bend them. Daemien even tried to bend a chopstick! He looked so cute! And you could tell he was trying really hard. Didn't manage to bend a spoon THIS time but i'm sure i saw movement in my honey's crouch so at least i moved something. Afterwards we went to the book store to hang around and then walked over the the cafe with all these yummy desserts!! We had a lot of chocolate but the one raspberry mousse was awesome and so was the italian rum cake. I wrote down a wish on a purple piece of paper and tied it to the tree outside. Then there was the question of what to do next. Courtney invited me and 'Stina to this Vampire ball that was later on that night and after debates about who was going in which car and how this was gonna work ('cause both 'Stina and me had to change although i had considered just wearing electrical tape), we under way. Mike and Kendra and Marc got dropped off and i went to Stina's house so she could get clothes and then we all converged to my place to change! Actually it took so long to finangle me into my wedding dress, what with all the buckles and the not breathing thing (note: must but more pantyhose). Trish was there so between her and 'Stina they managed to strap me in. We asked if she wanted to go to 'cause it would've been so cool but she kept saying she couldn't. Plus me and 'Stina and Courtney when she got there all had to put on make up and do hair and stuff. I borrowed these cute silver hairsticks from 'Stina and Courtney borrowed these peacock ones that were cute! Oh and those dangly chandeliery earrings went really well with Courtney's outfit so i loaned them to her. We ended up running a bit late getting all dolled up, but it turned out okay 'cause when we got there it started late and we ended up waiting. After much debate i left my purse-like aparatus behind because i didn't want to carry it around and except for the camera, which got left behind to my later regret since i really should have taken some pics, everything important got stuffed into my second best pair of boots. (note: must buy shoe goo or sent my boots to a repair shop). It was fun and although there was a lot of waltzing in the beginning, which made me nervous 'cause i can't. I stumbled through a few of them and my partners didn't seem too terribly mad that i had not idea what i was doing. Besides the rest of the time there was a waltz i used to time to catch my breath because it never really hit me what the implications of dancing as fast i do in a corset might do to me once the fast stuff hit. I have such a new appreciation for ladies in corsets! In between dances all i could keep saying was "can't breathe... huf huf can't breath huf huf". Found a cute guy in a top hat that also couldn't waltz and danced with most of the rest of the evening and flirted slightly with this guy all in white. Damn skirt kept getting caught in my boots though (note to self: reinforce stitching or devise lining on wedding dress). Oh but all these people kept complimenting my dress and asking where i got it. Courtney seemed very proud, almost beaming since it's all cause of her that i got such a cool gift anyways. It's a shame i couldn't advertise with it though given such nice compliments. I did have dehobble the skirt since i couldn't move very far with it, but it made the twirling much easier and boy do i like to twirl. They played a couple of pirately songs and couple of what i can only describe as jigs which i couldn't dance to... so instead hopped up and down to. The guy in which took lots of pics of me. All in all it was a good night and we danced til 2. Actually i'm surprised no one said "go Anna It's your birthday go anna it's your birthday" since it had passed midnight. It was a good way to start me birthday off. Oh yeah so no i'm 24. ugh.... Good day altogether but spent the next day recovering mostly.current mood: chipper (comment on this) | |
