The Landelijk Netwerk Mathematische Besliskunde (LNMB) is the national network for Operations Research in the Netherlands. Since its foundation in 1987, LNMB brings together researchers, lecturers, and practitioners from universities, research institutes, and industry who share an interest in applying mathematics to decision problems in business, economics, and society.
Education and research
LNMB coordinates the national graduate programme in Operations Research, offering advanced courses for Masters and PhD students by leading experts from the Netherlands and abroad. The network also stimulates collaboration in research and supports the exchange of ideas through conferences and special sessions. Find more about our PhD curriculum and Master courses we offer.
Community and collaboration
Founded in 1987, LNMB has become a vibrant community where the Dutch Operations Research field meets and grows. Through its annual conference and various initiatives, it continues to strengthen the connections between universities, research groups, and the professional world.
LNMB conference
Each year, LNMB organises a national conference that brings together the Dutch Operations Research community. The conference features invited talks by international speakers, presentations by the LNMB PhD students, and special sessions. The conference serves as a meeting place for researchers, students, and practitioners and the annual meeting of NGB. Information about the upcoming conference and past editions can be found here.
