Madison Astronomical Society (original) (raw)
MAS MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE IN-PERSON AND AVAILABLE ON YOUTUBE
Please see “Featured Events” for details.
MAS consists of people from many walks of life who are united by a genuine interest in astronomy. Our members are amateurs with skill levels ranging from novice to very experienced.
MAS is a non-profit organization promoting observational astronomy and discussions of astronomical topics.
Our aim is to bring the wonders of the universe to the public.
We maintain a dark-sky observatory where members can observe, image, and even do scientific research.
Our meetings are held the second Friday of each month usually at UW Space Place, located at 2300 S. Park Street in Madison. Meetings often include discussions as well as speakers on a wide variety of astronomical topics.
MAS will be celebrating its 90th birthday at a gala event next April 5th. More info to come but this occasion will also mark the return of our tradition of holding an annual banquet, but with much more style and panache than we usually employ. Stay tuned for more info about this event in the months to come, and SAVE THE DATE.
