History:
(Squadron Supreme I#10 (fb)) - The Iron Moth was apprehended by Tom Thumb after committing a robbery.
Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, Paul Ryan and Sam de la Rosa.
Iron Moth's battle with Tom Thumb took place early in the hero's career, before he became a member of Squadron Supreme.
I'm guessing from his appearance that the Iron Moth was a technology user, but it's also conceivable that he was a mutant, mutate or extraterrestrial.
I hope you weren't expecting an epic profile on a character that appeared in exactly one panel. His appearance was part of a WSQS-TV program that documented the career of the late Tom Thumb.
The Atom, a DC character whom Tom Thumb very loosely parallels, battled a villain called the Bug-Eyed Bandit, whose gimmick involved robotic insects--presumably, an "Iron Moth" might fit this description. Alternately, the Iron Moth could be a reference to minor Batman villain Killer Moth--he visually resembles Killer Moth quite a bit. --Omar Karindu
