We now swing down to the southeast of Cecil County east of the Elk River, on our way down the Eastern Shore. The part west of Grove Neck Rd was once MD 283, while Grove Neck itself was part of 282. MD 282's eastern end was once at Sassafras Rd (former MD 299), east of which was part of MD 299 to the Delaware border. The adjacent Delaware route is still DE 299.
