The good news is that, even though one must pace oneself through the dull parts, usually involving Mr. Popper's dullish family, he's in pretty good form whenever he's getting physical.
A refreshing, hilarious and heartwarming movie for everyone.
Fun for the whole family! Even if it's reliant on slapstick humour and kids jokes it will surely entertain the kiddies. I laughed several times too. Absolutely loved it, Mr. Poppers Penguins was a book I grew up with and I absolutely loved this film adaptation. Jim Carrey makes a hilarious Mr. Popper and the penguins were amazingly well done. How could one not like this movie? While it's all pretty predictable, Jim Carrey delivers and it's both funny and delightful. If you're looking for a movie that the whole family can enjoy together, this would be it.

The moral lesson that this movie feeds us smells fishy - because it's not in the book. But the backbone story about a guy who inherits some penguins is enough to tickle the kids.
There is nothing new here, but Mr. Waters, as he showed with the smarter and more daring "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday," knows how to keep things buzzing along.
In the sea of mediocrity that passes for children's films these days, Mr. Popper's Penguins has enough originality (and silly physical comedy) to make it stand out.
Precious, protracted and pleasant enough.
If you're wondering where the Jim Carrey of "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "Dumb and Dumber" fame went, don't look to Mr. Popper's Penguins for answers.
My favorite animals: Penguins My favorite actor: Jim Carrey My favorite city: New York City My favorite comedy of the year: Mr. Popper's Penguins Here's a nice soup of entertainment
It's a good family movie to watch. Other then that it's pretty dumb. Inherits some penguins and gives them to his kids for there birthday and tries to hide it from his landlord.
It's a good movie if you want to have your tv playing something and you doing something else
This is family entertainment in its lowest form. I got a few clever quips from Carrey but, for the most part, the writers took the easy way out and filled the movie with the lowest form of humor. Hell, even the farting sound effects seemed cartoonish and out of place. It's probably my fault expecting a comedy classic out of something titled "Mr. Popper's Penguins" but even the story itself was disappointing. The writers brought up so many plot elements that were never mentioned again. Also, the child actors were terrible and the adults just looked like they were trying to make a quick buck. Which, judging by the product, is exactly what they were doing.
Lo unico que salva la pelicula es el buen humor de Jim Carrey lo demas es una basura, el tema es imposible y ridiculo, ahi cosas que jamas se devieron crear nada mas ahi que ver la pelicula y tienes tu respuesta
