Big Chief #2

A former U-V occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼NE¼ sec. 12, T48N, R19W, G&SRM, along the N side of Roc (sic) Creek, on private land (located claim). Owned by Vanadium Corporation of America and operated by B.J. Burns (1962). Owned by Foote Minerals, Colorado (100%) (1975). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is an U-V deposit. Ore body No. 1 is sedimentary and irregular. Ore body No. 2 is tabular and ore body No. 3 is lenticular. The primary mode of origin was residual concentration and the secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was lithology and the secondary control was bedding. Wallrock alteration is moderate (bleaching). Local rocks include rocks of the Moenkopi Formation and of the Cutler Formation.

Workings include unspecified underground openings.
