Bose costs Bagan Durand Cup

North East United FC goes past Mohun Bagan in tie breaker to win their first ever Durand Cup. The team played really well in the second half, particularly one of the coach’s strategy of moving Jithin to the right was an excellent strategic move.

While Bagan coach made an initial blunder by putting Sahal onto bench, his decision in retaining Subhashish Bose until the last minute costed Bagan the trophy.

Bose was shaky once Jithin moved to the right, made series of mistakes, wasn’t sure of his position that created havoc and helped NEUFC build up pressure onto Bagan defense.

The two goal lead in the first half were negated when Tom first allowed Ajaraie after Bose failed to stop Jithin, and then when Bose with a lackluster attempt failed to stop Guillermo from scoring.

Bose finally nailed Bagan’s hope with a pathetic shot in the tie breaker.

Bagan should be really worried for ACL2 and ISL as team management failed to recruit a good left back and now team will have to carry Bose for the rest of the season.
