Major Characters

[ IMAGE of Mano Yohko ] Mano Yohko [Hisakawa Aya ()] Yohko is your typical boy-crazy teenage girl who just happens to be the 108th Mamono Hunter of the Mano clan. She has been trained in the art of Mamono hunting all of her life by her grandmother, Madoka. She inherited the title when Madoka passed on the Mamono Hunter ring to her, just in time to stop an invasion from the demon world. Her main weapon is a sword formed from power of her soul, the "Soul-sword", described by Madoka as the "Sword of your Soul".
[ IMAGE of Kanzaki Azusa ] Kanzaki Azusa [Yoshida Konami (ĸ)] Azusa is Yohko's Mamono Hunter apprentice and assistant. She is a very polite and proper girl who likes to be helpful. She has a Mamono Hunter gauntlet-like bracelet, similar in function to Yohko's ring, that her "Auntie Madoka" gave her. Her main weapon is a spear, refered to as the "Spear of Fuma". (Note: Azusa first appears in the second OAV)
[ IMAGE of Mano Madoka ] Mano Madoka [Mitsuya Yuuji (ͺ)] Madoka is the 107th Mamono Hunter, and Yohko's grandmother. She is very skilled in combat and has been training Yohko to be the next Mamono Hunter ever since Yohko was a little girl. She and her daughter, Sayoko, argue quite a bit.
[ IMAGE of Ogawa Chikako ] Ogawa "Chi" Chikako [Honda Chieko (¿ηû)] Chi is Yohko's best friend and self-appointed manager. She hopes to make Yohko an idol as a Mamono Hunter and turn a nice profit from it (ala Ghostbusters). She usually knows what is going on around her, via her self proclaimed intelligence network, and has a pocket organizer in which she keeps information about her school mates. She tends to snack quite a bit and sometimes goes on diets, which never last long.
[ IMAGE of Mano Sayoko ] Mano Sayoko [Tsuru Hiromi (Ҥ)] Sayoko is Yohko's mother. Sayoko was to be the 108th Mamono Hunter, but she lost her chance when she lost her virginity before becoming a Mamono Hunter, because a Mamono Hunter must be pure of mind and body when initiated. She tends to be very easy going about sex and constantly encourages Yohko to have and enjoy sex (quote: "life's too short and sweet to waste the flower of your youth").
