Herbert Bamlett was replaced by Walter Crickmer after his resignation on 09/11/1931. Fact: At age 32 the 1914 FA Cup Final between Liverpool and Burnley (which Burnley won 1-0), was refereed by Herbert, who was the youngest ever referee to be given judicative duties in an FA Cup Final. Fact: in 1909 Herbert was appointed ref for the FA Cup quarter-final tie between Burnley and his future employers Manchester United, Herbert called the game off with only 18 minutes left to play and United losing 1-0. |
