Mayrant 54k USS Mayrant (DD-402) tied up dockside at Palermo. Photo from "United States Destroyer Operations in World War II" by Theodore Roscoe. Thanks to Dave Schroeder and John Chiquoine who identified her and supplied the following text. After bomb damage on 26 July 1943 she was towed to Palermo and remained into 9 August 1943. There is no internet evidence that her division sisters tied up in Palermo, suggesting that this is an incidental view of Mayrant. Robert Hurst
