Report on camouflage patterns
During World War I there were reports filed with the Office of Naval Intelligence of ships in camouflage that visited U.S. ports. Subchasers never had standard patterns, but some commanders took initiative and created designs locally. SC-19 is in a standard Mackay pattern used for lots of other ships and classes. The others, such as SC-21 are individual
