Hi Im Samie! I am new to writing on this site. I was asked to join by Cricket, so thank you thank you! A tiny bit about myself would be- I AM A GIRL, I collect action figures, love photography, and I model (amateur not professionally- though i was accepted to be a Suicide Girl and a Music City Cutie but I have not accepted either of the offers). My action figure collection mainly consists of Mcfarlane Dragons, Tortured Souls, Monsters, Horror movie figures, and just about anything creepy or gory. I actually took quite few photos last night of my …
Fanboy Obsession of the Week: The Dark Knight

The time has almost come friends and the anticipation is reaching a fever pitch. I can feel the intensity as the Emo fanboys salivate. The Dark Knight has overtaken Indiana Jones (a film many people saw but no one cares about or remembers) as the must see movie experience of the year. Heath Ledger’s death has contributed to an almost insane amount of hype, publicity, and genuine excitement and interest in the film.
Early reviews report that the film is spectacular, more a crime epic like Heat than just another comic book film. The film has a lot going for it …
The Rise and Fall of M Night Shyamalan

M Night Shyamalan’s rise and fall is the stuff of greek mythology (or maybe greek tragedy). M Night was born in India in 1970 but raised in a wealthy suburb of Philadelphia, and was thought of as an adopted son in the area. I’m also from a suburb of Philadelphia and I’ve admired the way M Night filmed the city and his devotion to using the area in all of his movies. I enjoyed the sense of menace and dread in his earlier works and the way he smoothly worked the camera. His films used to have an eerie, otherworldly quality. …
Rant of The Week: CGI (Part 2 of 2)

Last week I was complaining about crappy CGI and the route most filmmakers are taking. This week, I’ll be discussing what should not be CG’d: epic battles. Also, why can’t Hollywood get the centaurs right?
So I was watching Braveheart a couple of weeks ago and it just amazed me that the movie was epic. Besides the great direction by Mel Gibson, I realized the movie tugged on my emotions because I never thought for once “Oh that crap is fake”. Even in the big battle scenes, Gibson uses real actors. Sure you can see some extras in the background “playfighting” …

Oh wow, just got back from Comic Con 2007 and boy am I tired. I finally got my new sandals and decided to test it out. Walking around in that thing is painful, the material wa rubbing against my skin and peeling it off. Right now my foot is really sore and not pretty to look at. Other than that, Comic Con was great.
The girls reactions to my outfit never gets old. It’s like I want to cosplay as other characters, but girls seems to like this, so I’ll be wearing this for a while. A really funny moment to …

Got to the premiere around 6:30. We left Anaheim at 4 p.m. but thanks to miscommunication among the group, we got lost and suffered a very heavy traffic. They let us in around 7:20 and gave everyone a wristband who was 21 or older. The movie started around 8:20 and was transmitted by satellite. People cheered and laugh at the right places. The movie ended around 10:45 and got a big applause. Do you expect anything else from a Hollywood crowd?
We got in at the afterparty around 11pm or so. I thought it was …

As a fan of Transformers, I can’t refuse an opportunity to attend the Los Angeles premiere of Transformers. It was a red carpet event with stars abound. There was a life-size model of Bumblebee on the side of the red carpet.…
