Left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson isn't the only Jets offensive lineman to agree on a contract today. Second-round pick Vladimir Ducasse signed his rookie contract today, according to his agent, Joe Linta.

Ducasse signed a four-year deal with the Jets worth 3.25million,includingasigningbonusjustover3.25 million, including a signing bonus just over 3.25million,includingasigningbonusjustover1 million, according to a person with direct knowledge of the terms of the contract. The person requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak for the team or Ducasse.

Ducasse, who was picked 61st overall, will compete for the Jets' starting left guard spot. He's the first 2010 second-rounder to sign.

He's also the third of the Jets’ four draft picks to ink his deal, joining running back Joe McKnight (fourth round) and fullback John Conner (fifth round). Just cornerback Kyle Wilson, the team’s first-rounder, has yet to sign.

The Jets, whose offensive line paved the way for the league’s No. 1 ground game last season, cut nine-time Pro Bowl left guard Alan Faneca after drafting Ducasse in April.

"Vlad is very happy and looks forward to a long career with the Jets," Linta said. "The Jets are very happy with his performance so far."

The rookie took reps with the first-team offensive line during organized team activities. He and Matt Slauson, the Jets’ sixth-round pick in 2009, alternated practices with the first team during the team’s mandatory June mini-camp and will continue their competition in camp.

A native Haitian who played college ball for Division I-AA UMass, Ducasse said offensive line coach Bill Callahan has been “coaching him hard” and that both his offensive and defensive teammates have been offering pointers. Ducasse was planning to spend his summer break in New Jersey working on his technique.
