Our Work
Evolving to Meet New Yorkers' Urban Agriculture Needs
Dedicated New Yorkers who tend gardens in a concrete jungle want it to thrive; so does our Urban Agriculture team.
Nature is a fundamental right of every New Yorker.
We partner with local communities, public agencies, and the private sector to acquire, create, maintain, and program public open space throughout New York City.
Los Amigos Community Garden
Our Parks & Gardens
NYRP cares for community gardens and parks citywide. We support communities in activating these green spaces year-round through urban agriculture and public programs including live performances, food distributions, and other neighborhood-centered activities.
What We're Doing
Our Impact
Since our founding in 1995 by Bette Midler, we have renovated gardens, restored parks, planted trees, educated students, and forged partnerships to transform the City’s landscape.
We’ve revitalized over 350 community spaces to create more gardens.
We’ve restored 500 feet of Sherman Creek Park shoreline.
Our gardens yield thousands pounds of fresh produce every year.
