Medal of Valor Nomination Period

The Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor is cited by the Attorney General and awarded by the President to a public safety officer who exhibited exceptional courage, extraordinary decisiveness and presence of mind, and unusual swiftness of action, regardless of their own personal safety, in the attempt to save or protect human life.

The nomination period for the 2024-2025 Medal of Valor is open from August 4, 2025, to October 3, 2025.
