Ontonagon County Historical Society | (original) (raw)

The Ontonagon County Historical Society was founded in 1957 to collect and preserve the artifacts of the county’s history and to educate the public about that history and related topics.

The museum building houses collections of mining, logging, farming, marine, and social memorabilia, displayed in room settings and cases.

The Ontonagon Lighthouse is part of our attractions. The Society has restored it and tours are available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week from mid-May to mid-October.

We have lighthouse souvenirs as well as books, DVDs, and other items of local historical interest. Also, treasure hunts are available for kids – find 10 things in the museum and win a prize from our “treasure chest.” Fun for the whole family!
