Hamilton alum Brandon Victor Dixon will star as Judas in NBC’s live broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar. He joins the previously announced John Legend as Jesus, Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, and Alice Cooper as King Herod.

Also joining the cast of the upcoming concert production are Tony Nominees Ben Daniels (Les Liasons Dangereuses) as Pontius Pilate and Norm Lewis (Once on This Island) as Caiaphas, Broadway actor Jason Tam (Les Miserables) as Peter, M. Butterfly's Jin Ha as Annas, and Swedish musician Erik Gronwall as Simon Zealotes.

Executive produced by Superstar composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice, the concert version of the musical will air Easter Sunday, April 1. Staged in front of an audience at the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the production will be helmed by British theatre director David Leveaux .
The creative team will also feature television director and producer Alex Rudzinski (Hairspray Live!), Tony-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell (Hamilton), music producer Harvey Mason Jr. (The Wiz Live!), musical director Nigel Wright (Jesus Christ Superstar world arena tour), production designer Jason Ardizzone-West 9 (Adele Live in NYC), and choreographer Camille A. Brown (Once on This Island).
Last seen Off-Broadway in The Red Letter Plays: Fucking A, Dixon played the role of Aaron Burr in the Broadway production of Hamilton from August 23, 2016 through August 13, 2017. His other Broadway credits include Shuffle Along, Motown the Musical, and The Color Purple. . Onscreen,Dixon currently co-stars on the Starz series Power as Terry Silver.
Marc Platt, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Legend, Mike Jackson, Ty Stiklorius, and Rudzinski are also attached as producers.
Jesus Christ Superstar premiered on Broadway in 1971 and was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Original Score for Lloyd Webber and Rice. The show was subsequently revived in 1977, 2000, and 2012.
