AUSTIN -- One bad minute pretty much sealed Austin's fate on Wednesday.
The Packers were hosting Albert Lea in Big Southeast District action. Albert lea's Logan Howe connect with Jayjor Ruei for a 10-yard touchdown pass on fourth down. Austin fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Albert Lea recovered and struck immediately with a 31-yard TD pass from Howe to Javarus Mucha-Owens to put the Tigers up 14-0.
Austin battled back, with Teyghan Hovland hitting Agwa Nywesh with a 36-yard touchdown pass, but Albert Lea responded in a strange way. Howe fumbled, but teammate Chase Hill picked up the fumble and carried it 20 yards for a touchdown to put the Tigers up 21-7 at halftime.
Albert Lea would go on to claim a 24-7 win.
Austin ends the regular season with a record of 2-6, as does Albert Lea.
