Business Customers: OTPs Now Sent Only by Phone, Not Email
As part of our continued efforts to enhance security and protect account(s) for the business customers, Hanmi Bank has discontinued the use of email as a delivery method for one-time passcodes (OTPs), effective September 15, 2025.
Why This Change Matters
This change is to proactively reduce fraud that can happen when email accounts are compromised. These types of attacks can create risk of unauthorized access or potential financial loss. Protecting your business from this risk is our top priority.

Deepfake Scams – What You Should Know
Scammers are constantly evolving, and deepfakes—fake videos, audio clips, or images created using AI—are among the latest threats. These can mimic the voice or appearance of family, friends, or coworkers, aiming to deceive recipients. The goal is simple: to convince you to send money or share sensitive information.
Tomas Lee, Hanmi’s Head of Information Security, said “Deepfake scams are increasing, making it harder to distinguish real from fake. We are committed to helping our community stay informed and safe from emerging digital threats.”
