Queens NY / July 6, 2012. Queens offers easy access to a wide range of recreational facilities and events. The following is our first attempt to provide you with a view of the range of facilities, events and activities provided by the parks of Queens. We encourage you to make use of these facilities because they provide healthy, fun, and either free or inexpensive entertainment for both individuals and families with children.

Doughboy Park - Woodside / Sunnyside Queens

Doughboy Park Woodside QueensDoughboy Park is located near 55th Street a block from Roosevelt Avenue within Woodside and very near the Sunnyside neighborhood. This park sits along a nicely sloping hill and has a bench area surrounding a statue dedicated to the 'Doughboys' of WWI. The park is useful for sunning in the summer and sledding in the winter. King Park - Jamaica Queens

King Park Jamaica QueensKing Park is located in the heart of Jamaica Queens and was once part of the residence of Rufus King, a signer of the U.S. Constitution. The park is surrounded by a number of older homes and has a lot of open space for kids to run and play. King Manor Museum is located in the park.

Socrates Sculpture Park - Long Island City /Astoria

Socrates Sculpture Park Long Island City Astoria QueensSocrates Sculpture Park is located along the East River along the Astoria / Long Island City line near the Noguchi Museum and Costco. This park is a highly active sponsor of community art and events.


Sunnyside Gardens Park - Sunnyside Queens

Sunnyside Gardens Park Sunnyside QueensSunnyside Gardens Park is located adjacent to Sunnyside Gardens which in 2007 was designated with landmark status. Sunnyside Park is a private park with dues paying members, but they frequently sponsor holiday events which are open to the public.
