On behalf of the URJ – and with profound sadness – I extend our condolences to the Catholic community worldwide on the passing of Pope Francis, a visionary leader whose commitment to compassion, justice, and interfaith understanding has profoundly impacted our world.

Our hearts are with the people of Israel and the civilians in Gaza at this difficult time. We pray for the immediate release of all of the hostages, a negotiated ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid to innocent civilians in Gaza, and a future of safety and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Highlights from the 2024-2025 L'Taken Season

Over the 2024-2025 season, we brought 1,800 Jewish high schoolers from across the US to join us in Washington, D.C. over our five seminars. They visited the sites, met other Reform teens from coast to coast, learned about social justice and advocacy, and made their voices heard on Capitol Hill.

With the start of the 119th Congress and new administration in the White House, the challenges before us are manifold and the political discourse polarized. We have already seen policies that attack the most vulnerable among us. Our work has never been more urgent as we ask ourselves what it looks like to build a society of civil rights and freedom for all people in a time of political challenge and social turmoil..
