Principal's Welcome

Tēnā koutou katoa,

As we move forward, our focus remains steadfast on fostering the continued growth of our rangatahi by building a strong foundation grounded in our RISE Values—Respect (Whakaute), Integrity (Pono), Service (Rato), and Environment (Taiao). These values are at the heart of everything we do, guiding our actions and shaping the vibrant and supportive learning environment we strive to create.

This term, we are introducing several significant changes aimed at enriching our students’ educational experiences. We have updated our timetable to better meet the diverse needs of our learners, introduced new subjects that will ignite curiosity and passion, and expanded opportunities for exploration and discovery. We are also excited to announce the formation of a new Leadership Council, which will empower our students to take on meaningful roles and contribute to our school community in impactful ways.

Our commitment to nurturing the value of who our tamariki are and fostering a strong sense of belonging remains central to our mission statement, Rising on Up, Maranga Mai. We believe that every child deserves to feel valued, respected, and connected. By embracing our RISE Values and working together, we will support each student in their journey to becoming confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.

I am looking forward to collaborating with our students, teachers, staff, and families as we embark on this journey. Your engagement and support are vital as we build a thriving school community where every individual’s achievements are celebrated, and each student feels a deep sense of belonging.

Here’s to a wonderful term ahead, filled with growth, learning, and shared success.

Nāku noa,

Jesmond Filipo
