Seabed Mapping

The Rebikoff-Niggeler Foundation (FRN) is acting in the field of deep-sea research and filming of deep-sea environments in the Northeast Atlantic, using manned submersible technology. FRN has been declared an Institution of Public Benefit, in the year 2000.

Deep-sea Footage

Filming of deep-sea fauna has been done for several nature documentaries, including the BBC´s Blue Planet II series. An extensive deep-sea footage archive has been created during many years of diving and filming with the LULA1000 submersible.

Research Projects

Joint research projects are being carried out with a number of national and international research partners.

In situ documentation of deep-sea fauna and habitats is used for scientific and educational purposes.

Deep Sea Art Project

The research submersible LULA1000 was on an untypical mission in the deep sea of Madeira, together with the artist Hanamaro Chaki.

Planet Earth III is on air!

Don´t miss it! UK transmission of the Ocean episode is on 29th october. From november onwards, the programme will be transmitted around the world.
