Critics Consensus

This sequel is little more than an excuse to stage elaborate, gory scenes of characters getting killed off.

Nell Minow Common Sense Media Gruesome, ridiculous, really bad waste of time. Rated: 1/5 Dec 24, 2010 Full Review Empire Magazine Rated: 3/5 Dec 30, 2006 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Pushing the limits of an R rating, this sequel to 2000's surprise hit starts with the blood dripping madly and then amps it up to levels as to now unseen in American horror. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 19, 2003 Full Review Megan Williams Battle Royale With Cheese Despite the occasional flat writing and strange editing, the film takes a familiar concept and executes it in a way that makes it different and interesting. Overall, ‘Final Destination 2’ is a worthy sequel. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Michael Walsh Nerdist Final Destination 2 is legitimately an excellent movie; it's a fun and suspenseful film that manages to improve on the original in every way while also standing entirely on its own. Jan 31, 2018 Full Review Steve Newton Georgia Straight Just the fact that it manages to keep the viewer involved despite the plot's general ridiculousness makes it the most effective Vancouver-shot horror flick in years. Char T A great film! Plays on the first film's idea, but grows more suspense and thrill. It's interesting to see what else the writer's come up with. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/27/24 Full Review Gianvito A Not as good as the first one but i still had fun with this Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review jonathan n This is one of the few films that I've seen where the protagonists are actually the villains. Kimberley sets up most of the deaths due to her constant misinterpretation of the visions. In the end she and Burke just move on after every incident as if nothing happens. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/24 Full Review William B Better than the first film. Actually entertaining to watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review annabelle j although not as good as the first I believe that the second was a good film as there's suspense , gore and character development. even if the film can be ridiculous at times I feel its what makes the film iconic within the series my favourite plotline had to be Rory with such a unbelievable death and the swiftness of it I feel his last convocation was such an important one showing how he coming to terms with his own mortality and asking the main character to get rid of anything that will "upset my mom" thinking about how he wants to be remembered , a small glimpse into the feeling of Rory compared tot the usual chill guy persona before his brutal death watching final destination is a good night in for the spooky month and the second is no different Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review Huub B Hahaha stupid movie. Was still entertaining but looked so much like the first one apart from the new twists like stopping death or not being able to be saved from death if done by someone that shouldve died.
