nick s Everything about this production was great - acting, directing, cinematography, editing. It was stylish and well paced. But unfortunately spoilt by an absurd plot that relied far too much on coincidence. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Audience Member Some great leading ladies, Gina Gershon's role kind of stale spoiler alert: wish she hadn't died :( Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/17 Full Review Audience Member It would be a somewhat interesting story if the situations weren't set up by idiotic circumstances. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Discrepancy between the near-comedic plot and its bloody, naturalistic resolution dooms PICTURE CLAIRE. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Gritty and atmospheric, Picture Claire is a dark noir thriller. The story follows a girl who goes on the run after her apartment is burned down, but when she accidentally crosses paths with a smuggler she ends up being pursued by police and gangsters. The film has an interesting cast that features Juliette Lewis, Gina Gershon, Mickey Rourke, and Callum Keith Rennie. And the directing style is quite unusual, using split screens and different color filters. However, the storytelling is extremely poor, as is the character development. While there's some mystery and intrigue to Picture Claire, ultimately it ends up being rather mundane. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Great cast (Gina Gershon, Juliette Lewis, and, briefly, Mickey Rourke) wasted in weak neo-noir film.
