Welcome to the San Gabriel Valley District

The San Gabriel Valley District proudly serves the vibrant communities of Arcadia, Temple City, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, Duarte, Bradbury, Irwindale, Baldwin Park, Covina, Charter Oak, Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, and Claremont.

At the heart of our mission, the San Gabriel Valley District envisions the growth and development of our young Scouts, empowering them with essential skills and values. Our aim is for these Scouts to seamlessly integrate into our communities as compassionate citizens and future leaders.

Through the collaborative efforts of our dedicated Scouts, leaders, volunteers, and caretakers, we strive to forge a unified front, guiding our society towards a resilient and prosperous future.

The Silver Beaver Award Nomination Time

The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is the highest honor a Council can bestow upon a volunteer. Recipients of this award are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through volunteer service.

Who can receive it: Registered Scouters who have provided exceptional service to the Council.
How to receive it: Nominated by a Scouting peer and approved by the National Court of Honor.
What it recognizes: Unselfish, effective service to the community, usually through Scouting.
What it includes: A medal, certificate, pocket card, and lapel pin

Investing in the Future of Scouting

The Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign is an investment beyond national membership fees and basic registration, which cover only a fraction of Scouting’s costs. Without your support, our council’s infrastructure, programs, and volunteer training are at risk, potentially leading to camp closures and fewer opportunities for Scouts.

Your contribution helps to:

Keep camp fees affordable for all families
Strengthen council infrastructure to support local units
Maintain and improve camp properties for outdoor adventures
Enhance volunteer training to ensure a high-quality program
Fund camperships and Scoutreach, providing opportunities for all youth

Your generosity ensures Scouting remains strong and accessible in our community.

In addition to individual recognition, units that participate in the Friends of Scouting campaign will be awarded a White Ribbon for their unit flag.
