Major Events and Accomplishments, 1872–1874
- 1872 – Many Republicans supported Reuben Tomlinson in the gubernatorial election as a result of rumors involving acceptance of bribes and misappropriation of state funds by Moses
- 1874 – Governor Moses was indicted for misappropriation of state funds but the court ruled that he could not be prosecuted while governor
