Graduated from Higher Air Force School; doctorate degree of medicine, 1951; Colonel, Soviet Air Force Res.; was selected as cosmonaut on 26.05.1964 (Voskhod, since 17.01.1966 forTsPK-3);OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 17.01.1966 - 12/67; was crewmember of the on 05.04.1975 aborted missionSoyuz 18A (together with Oleg Makarov); was assigned as backup forSoyuz T-3; after he retired from active duty he worked as a civil servant with the Organisation Snaniye of theTsPK; died on alcohol poisoning.
