Bangladesh Railway authorities will begin selling advance train tickets from August 29 to ensure hassle-free journey for holidaymakers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

The sale will continue till September 2 at Dhaka's Kamalapur and Chittagong railway stations, Railways Minister Mazibul Hoque said at a press briefing at his ministry conference room in Dhaka.

Commuters will be able to collect tickets from 8:00am, the minister said.

Train tickets of September 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be distributed on August 29, 30, 31 and September 1, 2 respectively, the minister said.

Five pairs of special trains and 140 coaches will be added to the existing ones in order to facilitate the holidaymakers ahead of the Eid, the minister said.

Adequate security measures will be taken to avoid any untoward incident during this time.
