Kothagudem coal town to host Balotsav-2014 in November in Telangana (original) (raw)
The coal town of Kothagudem will host Balotsav-2014, a three-day national-level cultural festival of Telugu children, in November this year.
The Kothagudem Club will organise the mega cultural fete, its 23rd annual inter-school cultural festival, on the premises of the club from November 7 to 9.
The organisers unveiled a colourful brochure at an impressive ceremony, presided over by convener Vasireddy Ramesh Babu, held at the club on Sunday afternoon. Ooha, a class III student of a local government school, released the brochure in the presence of a galaxy of prominent personalities from various fields.
Child artists of Durga Sai Nrutya Niketan presented a dance ballet – “Ksheera Sagara Madhanam”on the occasionA convention on “Vidya – Maathru Basha” was also conducted in which noted literary personalities and educationists from various parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh took part.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ramesh said the Balotsav was open to all Telugu-speaking students from all over the country. The competitions will be held in separate categories on 24 themes such as Neethi Padhyam, short film review, Dasarathi poetry recital, clay modelling, short drama, letter writing, folk dances, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and others.
